Range Rules
Archery Range Rules:
No firearms allowed.
Only field-tip arrows allowed on targets, no firearms or broad-head arrows.
No person allowed down range during shooting.
Additional archery range at west end of property, located at Pistol Bay 3, faces north.
Archery range closed if Rifle Range is open.
Archery shooting line past Pistol Bay 4 if Pistol Bays 3 and 4 in use.
Trap Range Rules:
Safety is the #1 concern. Unsafe gun handling results in removal from the club.
Treat all guns as if loaded. Never be complacent.
Never let your weapon point at anyone.
Load weapon on your assigned shooting post only.
Guns are loaded unless open.
Walking from post to post with a loaded or closed gun prohibited.
Load only one shell per shot, except for doubles.
Close gun only on the line or in gun rack.
When removing gun from gun rack, take only one step before opening.
Be considerate of other shooters.
Remain on your assigned post until last person shoots.
No excessive swing-through.
Do not handle or point guns behind shooting line.
No shooting from behind the shooting line.
Unload weapon if trap house runs empty while shooting.
Ask for permission before handling someone else's gun.
Make sure you pick up your gun.
No hand thrown or temporary machine thrown clays allowed.
No shooting double targets if rifle shooters are down range.
Shot size cannot exceed 7 1/2, and speed cannot exceed 1250 FPS.
Alcohol not allowed on the Trap Line or parking lot. Only allowed in the Clubhouse or bleachers.
Pistol Range Rules:
Handguns only in pistol bays #1 and #2. No rifles or shotguns. No ammo over 2000 FPS.
Rimfire rifles allowed in pistol bay #2 only when rifle range officer is present.
Rifles allowed on 35-yard sight-in target on pistol bay #2 when rifle range officer is present.
Rifles and shotguns allowed in pistol bays #3 through #6.
All targets must be positioned so that bullets hit the backstop, not the ground or roof supports.
Shoot only at paper or AR500 steel targets.
Do not handle guns when people are down range. Guns must be unloaded with actions open or holstered.
Eye and ear protection mandatory.
No alcohol or drugs allowed on pistol ranges.
Clean up range and dispose of trash.
Fast Draw Range Rules:
No live ammo allowed.
Range can be used only with a CFDA Range Master present.
Dry firing only allowed in designated areas or on the line.
Rifle Range Rules:
Rifle range can only be used with Rifle Range Safety Officer present.
Hearing and eye protection required.
Shoot only at paper targets affixed to OSC frames.
Shooting only from permanently mounted benches using OSC rests.
No rapid fire.
Barrier door must be lowered when anyone is down range.
Firearms not being shot shall be placed in rifle racks unloaded
Shooting Times:
9:00 am - 9:00 pm.
No shooting after 2:00 pm when hall is rented.
